Well, as a treat to myself for making 1000 km, I took a few days off running. I have been fighting a cold lately, so the few days off were well timed from that perspective! It was a good break, although it was not without exercise; since hockey is now getting into full swing with 2 trainings per week, plus a game on Saturdays.
As for today's run, I thought I would recreate my earthquake run, from where I dumped my car. I wanted to see how far it was. So I headed from home, recreating the route, expecting it to be a good, 5 or 6 kms, which is what it felt like on the day! Turns out, it was about 4 km. It certainly felt much longer. So from where the car was, I followed Colombo Street, up to the river, and then followed that home. Worked out to being 11.96km, done in 51 mins. So a good 4 min 19 per km which is not bad over 12 km!
My partner was in a Duathlon today, and did really well. There is a duathlon series beginning in May, running for 4 weeks. So, some duathlons could be happening in the future! Some ideas are now fermenting at least...
