Hey all,
No run again today. Its just too hard, given the situation. Damage is extensive, infrastructure is stuffed. My family and I are ok, we are going well, but the scale of the situation is simply immense.
On a personal note, I am lucky. The tracks that I have run so many times this year, the valleys which I have travelled, the ridges I have traversed. Many of these, are quite simply gone, in some instances, taking people with them. It is an unimaginable tragedy, one which I am struggling to comprehend. It is too real, too close to home. It has really affected me, not only in my running, but also as a person.
I have nothing to recover from, it is more I need to fully grasp the situation, which I have as yet failed to do. But I will, bear with me, it can be pretty hard to not be morbid at times like this.....
