Fifty plus one

Well, day 51. Was feeling pretty good before I started my run, was feeling fresh and ready to go, feeling that I was really starting to get some good fitness, given I was feeling so good after a 20km hill run yesterday.

I was largely wrong. Turns out I was as tired as ever! Not so much as to stop my run, but it just more forced me to have a stop (or three) on my run. I headed up the run that I decided was called the Gorge Major, which is up the Gorge Track, cutting across and up to Huntsbury ave, then down Major Aitken and home via the river. Aside from feeling pretty tired, the run was good. It was suprisingly busy on the tracks, a fair few walkers and bikers, but interestingly I didn't see anyone or any cars coming down Major Aitken, so that was the most pleasant and satisfying part of the whole run! Probably didn't hurt my mental state that I was on the downhill either.... Worked out to 15.11 km, done in 1 hour 11 mins.

I am right on track to achieve 800+ km by the end of February, and then to achieve the big 1000 early in March.

Well, the first real hockey commitment of the season starts tonight, so we will see how my "good fitness" holds up when I am holding a hockey stick!
