No run.

Well, as the title says, no run today.  

It really just wasnt possible. Instead of running, I headed out over to the other side of town, to one of the most affected areas, to try and do some good. I was joining in with a whole group of guys, organised through family ties who had been doing the clean up for the past 2 days. Those guys are absolute legends, they have been out in that neighbourhood for three days, helping anyone, and everyone they can. No desire for repayment, for fame or for any tangible reward, except for the pride of helping people. They do the job, to a high standard, and all they ask in return is that the people they help, try to pass it on to their neighbours.

So, I am in awe of their dedication and hard work. I was priveledged to be able to be with them, and I will begin again with them on Monday; they are taking a break tommorow. Well earned I say.


The running therefore, is probably going to suffer for a couple of days. For those who might cry offense at this, I simply say, sometimes there are things that are far bigger than an individual person, and in those situations we have to stand together, help out fellow man, as we would hope they would do for us.
