16th Jan

Today was hot. Plain and simple, a very hot day here in Christchurch! With that in mind I didn't head out for a run untill the early evening, which although being cooler, the wind had picked up in a quite nasty fashion! Certainly running up hill with a head wind is a less than pleasant experience.

Headed up the Rapaki Track, following the normal route for the Twin Peaks, then headed up the St Martins stairs up to Huntsbury Road, then coming down a pretty steep trail down into the Gorge Track, then running home by the normal route. Added up to 11.2km, done at a gentle pace of 5 min kms (57:58), not fast by any stretch, but the key is that the km's are still getting ticked off! Oh, and rolled ankles suck pretty hard! Overall a pretty good run, the head wind up Rapaki was a bit rough, but overall, feeling pretty good, definitly looking forward to a rest day in Hanmer tommorow!

Now, time for dinner, resting tommorow, I will still try and get 60-70km in this week, already at 25 for the week so far, so there is no reason that I wont be able to get up to that amount, even with the rest day!
