28th January

So, another week ends. There are only a couple of days left until I have finished my first month! I am unsure if I would class myself as excited, I have days in which I am happy to run, happy for it and that there would be nothing I would rather do than run. However, there are days which are the exact polar opposite, days where running is a chore. Certainly there have been a few days where that has happened! And that is what it is, I just need to keep ahead of it and keep doing the work.

Todays run took me from my house up the Gorge Track, to the shelter, where I turned and followed a track along the ridgeline (not sure what its called), then dropped down, and back up to the ridge, following the tracks I normally did (albeit in reverse) for the Two Peaks Redux. I ended up at the base of the Valley Track, and from there, ran home via the river. 11.72 km, done in 58:50. Certainly not setting any land speed records, but as I said, some days I just need to keep the km's ticking over.

So, stats for the week are that I completed 120.54km, which is definitly a new record! It is also twice what I need to be averaging per week for me to complete my goal. That amount of km's will definitly not be able to be kept up, I am hoping to keep it around 70-80 however. So, in the 4 weeks so far, I have completed 404.86km, run for 32 hours and 11 minutes which means averaging 14.45km per day so far.

Well, a start has been made.
